Awaiting the bitter cold snap that is coming tonight. I am still in denial about this winter stuff. It is raining, go figure. The weather Gods assure us by this time tomorrow things will look quite different.

So indulgent, those first few hours as the new snow lays upon the branches and coats a world white.
I had a friend whose mother would make special ‘snow flake’ cookies on the day of the first snow.
We waited with baited breath for leaden skies to give forth their offerings.
Finally, so innocently joyous as our lips dusted with powdered sugar tasted newly made winter.

It has been a week of surreal weather pleasure, with temps. in the 70’s, sunny and nice. Who could possibly ask for better boredom in August!
The storms have engulfed us and the river has washed over its banks onto the bike path.
Morning
The storm system that hit Oklahoma edges closer to us with less severity. Still the meteorologists are antsy. Warning of harsh storm possibilities if the sun were to warm the air, all were wishing for a cloudy morning. Instead I awoke to an azure sky. We shall see what this afternoon brings, if anything.
